Le Défilé de la Saint-Patrick de Québec

LE DÉFILÉ DE LA SAINT-PATRICK DE QUÉBEC ANNONCE LA DATE OFFICELLE DE SA 3e ÉDITION

Québec, le 04 décembre 2011 – Le comité organisateur du Défilé de la Saint-Patrick de Québec est très fier d’annoncer la date officielle de la 3e édition de l’évènement qui se tiendra le samedi 24 mars 2012 à 13 h 30.

Les quartiers Montcalm, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, et Vieux-Québec seront animés par un contingent long de plus de 800 mètres, qui partira de l’École secondaire St-Patrick pour se terminer à l’Hôtel de ville de Québec. Le défilé regroupera plus de 1000 participants tels que des joueurs de percussions et cornemuses, danseurs et musiciens, animateurs historiques, amuseurs publics, organismes charitables, familles de souche irlandaise, et personnalités importantes de la communauté.

Toute la population de même que les touristes de partout seront conviés à festoyer dans l’ambiance sécuritaire et colorée du Défilé de la Saint-Patrick de Québec. Disparu depuis 1926, l’évènement est de retour à Québec depuis 2010. La fête de la Saint-Patrick est bien ancrée dans les coutumes des gens, qui ont participé à quelques dizaines de milliers de personnes aux dernières éditions.

Le Défilé de la Saint-Patrick de Québec est un organisme à but non lucratif dont tous les membres sont bénévoles, et a pour mission de valoriser un héritage commun irlandais en faisant revivre, et poursuivre la tradition d'un défilé annuel de la Saint-Patrick dans la Capitale-Nationale.

The Gaelic Column was formed in 1992 by a small group of police officers from the Boston Police Department. They are an independent organisation consisting of Boston Police officers and sworn law enforcement officers from the greater Boston area.

The Quebec City Garrison, known as Olde Fort St. Andrew's, is one of the 13 different garrisons of 78th Fraser Highlanders in North America. The 78th Fraser Highlanders Regiment is a non-profit organization whose goal is to foster pride in our country's history, to promote the Scottish history and culture, and to pass on these traditions to younger generations.

On March 26th 2011, everyone will be Irish in Quebec City!

We are proud to announce the second edition of the Défilé de la Saint-Patrick de Québec, which will be held on Saturday, March 26th 2011, at 1:30 PM.

On this festive day, we will once again get together to celebrate Irish presence in Québec in a pleasant, family atmosphere. Our motivation and slogan is to “Continue the Tradition” by our commitment to recreating a successful annual event downtown in the national capital.

Continues along rue St-Jean, crosses boulevard Honoré-Mercier
